Roberta Diamond completed a Master’s Degree in Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London with Marie Vassiliou, supported by The Guildhall School Trust in 2016. Roberta specialises in the interpretation of renaissance and baroque music and performs in a variety of ensembles across Europe dedicated to this repertoire. She has a particular interest in Italian sacred music of the 17th century.
Roberta has sung a number of opera and oratorio roles including Minerva in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno di Ulisse in Patria, Filia in Carissimi’s Jephte, Diane in Charpentier's Actéon changé en biche and Cupid in Blow’s Venus and Adonis. She has performed in the Urbino Festival of Early Music, the London Handel Festival, the Brighton Early Music Festival, the Greenwich Early Music Festival, the International Festival of Baroque Music in Bolivia and Utrecht Oude Muziek Fringe Festival. In London she has sung live on BBC Radio 3 and performed at St Martin-in-the-Fields, Handel House and Wigmore Hall, amongst other venues.
Roberta has participated in masterclasses with and sung under the direction of many leading artists in her field including Dame Emma Kirkby, Gabriel Garrido, Richard Egarr, Eamonn Dougan, James Johnstone, Alessandro Quarta and Steven Devine. She is a member of Emma Kirkby’s ensemble for lutes and voices, Dowland Works, with whom she regularly performs. Roberta also regularly collaborates with ensembles Titan's Rising and Ensemble Molière.Recent performances include a showcase with her ensemble, Lux Musicae London at the 2016 Brighton Early Music Festival and the role of Galatea in Handel's Acis and Galatea at the Mornington Peninsula Summer Music Festival under the direction of Sophie Daneman and Donald Nicolson.
In 2017 Roberta will sing the role of Amore in the Pinchgut Opera production of Monteverdi's Coronation of Poppea. Roberta also enjoys collaborating with folk musicians from all over the world in cross-cultural projects and in 2017 she will perform at the Ketevan World Sacred Music Festival in Goa, India.
