The South Korean Soprano Myungjoo Lee studied with Prof. Choon-Hye Lee and Prof. Heion Seo in Seoul. Further studies with Prof. Heinz Reeh and Prof. Norma Sharp in Berlin as well as with Prof. Fenna Kügel-Seifried in Munich.
During her studies in Korea she performed Mimi (Bohème) and Violetta (Traviata), with the Tenor Alfred Kim under the direction of Myung-Whun Chung, in this combination also at the Carnegie Hall in New York. Mimi she sang also in Munich (Rundfunkorchester under Ulf Schirmer). With the „Neue Hofkapelle München“ under Christoph Hammer she sang Night und Juno (Purcell: Fairy Queen) in the Prinzregententheater Munich, in Ingolstadt and in Neuss.
Since 2010 she is member oft the ensemble of the State Theater of Linz (Austria).
There she performed Donna Elvira (Giovanni), Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte),Pamina (Zauberflöte), Norina (Don Pasquale), Inez (Trovatore), Gilda (Rigoletto), Ellen (Lakmé),Micaela (Carmen), Tosca (Tosca), Füchslein Schlaukopf (Das schlaue Füchslein) and Blanche (Dialogues des Carmelites).
At the Staatstheater Kassel she gave guest performances as Mimi (Bohème) for several times.
In February/March 2015 she had a series of performances of Cio-Cio San (Butterfly) in the Royal Albert Hall in London.
2015/16 she will sing in Linz among other Gretel (Hansel and Gretel) and Violetta (Traviata).
Also in the sector of concert she was very successful in the solos of Beethovens Missa solemnis and Mahler’s symphonies nrs. 2, 4 and 8. In the Seoul Arts Center she performed with Alfred Kim as Soloist in Beethoven’s 9th Symphony under Myung-Whun Chung.
In the Mozartsaal of the Wiener Konzerthaus she had a recital.
