Australian coloratura soprano Alexandra Flood made her professional European opera debut in June 2014 as a young artist at the Salzburg Festival, where she sang the roles of Blonde and covered Konstanze (Die Entführung (Die Entführung aus dem Serail für Kinder), Modistin ( Der Rosenkavalier/ Vienna Philharmonic) and Clorinda (La Cenerentola für Kinder).
In May 2015, Alexandra made her main stage, lead role debut as Marguerite (Le Petit Faust (Hervé)/ Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz, Munich).
The following October, Alexandra performed the title role in The Cunning Little Vixen in Sydney with Pacific Opera.
Early 2016 saw Alexandra reprise the role of Blonde at the Vorarlberger Landestheater in Bregenz. In May, Alexandra featured as a guest artist at an opera gala concert at the Konzerthaus, Vienna with Maestro Michael
Halazs, and later in Lithuania with Maestro Ricardas Sumilas.
In May, Alexandra returned to Australia to star as the soprano soloist in the Queensland Ballet and Queensland Symphony Orchestra’s sold out prduction of Strictly Gershwin, before travelling to Virginia to take up one of the highly competitive Studio Artist positions at the acclaimed Wolf Trap Opera festival.
Alexandra then returned to Amsterdam to make her dream-role debut as Violetta (Traviata Remixed), a co-production between Opera Front and the Metropolitan Opera New York’s “Met2Go.” October 2016 saw Alexandra feature at the opening concert of the Mallorca Music Festival in Spain, followed by performances on a cruise of the Pacific, with renowned opera star Kiri Te Kanawa.
