MALMÖ SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA – SOUSTROT – KOCH – GROVES – TERFEL
The mystical tale of Faust that Goethe turned into a play made a lasting impression on Hector Berlioz as well, resulting in the dramatic legend »La Damnation de Faust«. The work has found a fixed place in the repertoire today and is often performed in concert, a fact due not least to its musical form, which falls somewhere between oratorio, number opera and symphonic poem. At the Dresden Music Festival, the fascinating composition will be performed by a fantastic and unique cast of singers, joined by an expert on French opera, the conductor Marc Soustrot. A highlight (not only) for opera fans!
