SINGER DIANA HALLER: AWARDED "YOUNG SINGER OF THE YEAR 2013" (OPERNWELT) FOR CENERENTOLA
Rossini‘s Opera buffa from 1817 resembles a society game with a liking of role play and of various states of intoxication. The part’s stunning coloratura matches the character Cinderella’s brilliant social ascend. La Cenerentola combines an array of comical characters taken from the world of the »Commedia dell’Arte«: A bewildered prince in danger of losing his heritance is forced to marry and embarks on an improvised hunt for a suitable bride. During his search he gets in the way of a braggard and his daughters whilst the prince’s own servant strives to take the prince’s place instead.
