Almeida Prado - Tornedos a Rossini
"Rossini, the great composer of 'Il Barbieri di Siviglia'. was not only a musical genius, but also a great cook. His dishes were well-known and in high demand, and he was the creator of the acclaimed 'Tornedos a la Rossini'.
I believe It would not be a musical sacrilege to set his recipe to music, and try to pay tribute to him with humor, something he cultivated with exceptional care and finesse.
I freely used fragments of the overture to The Barber of Seville, it being his most popular and genius work, in order to elaborate variations and recitatives, so the listener can keep track of the dedicatee."
