30 glorious years of a perfect marriage between a conductor and his orchestra, between Michel Plasson and the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse. This beautiful story ended two years ago. Michel Plasson is now free of his own choices.
He is invited by the most prestigious orchestras and opera houses all over the world.
From Moscow to Milano, from Leipzig to the States, in China and now in Japan, in every famous place where music reigns Michel Plasson can afford himself to make live the works he loves in the best musical conditions. First of all we talk about French music whose he was and is the most eloquent apostle. More than a hundred recordings for EMI CLASSICS testify of it.
During the season 2006/2007, Michel Plasson is, among others, the guest of the Opéra National du Rhin where he will conduct the complete version of “Les Troyens” and also a concert with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, he will then go to Sevilla where he will conduct “Roméo et Juliette” in the Teatro de la Maestranza and also two concerts with the Real Orquesta Sinfonica de Sevilla. After that he will be at the head of the Orchestra National de Lyon, in Parma (Teatro Regio) for “la Damnation de Faust”, with the Orchestre de Paris, the Oslo Philharmonic, in Vienna for “Thaïs” with Renée Fleming and Thomas Hampson, in Palermo (Teatro Massimo) where he will conduct “Manon”.
He will finish the season by conducting again the Orchestre National de Lyon in La Chaise-Dieu and at the Berlioz festival of la Côte Saint-André.
