Magdalena Renwart was born in Tyrol (Austria) and grew up in Italy. She studied Italian Literature at the University of Florence and began her musical studies with Maestro Walter Alberti-Scatarzi. She received her first diploma from the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome and decided to continue her vocal studies with Univ. Prof. Gerhard Kahry in Vienna, where she graduated from the opera school of the Music and Arts University of the City and studied vocal education at the University for Music and the Performing Arts.
The young soprano made her debut at the Vienna Musikverein with a recital and was awarded a scholarship from the Richard-Wagner-Stipendienstiftung in Bayreuth. She served as cover in the role of Leonore in Beethoven's Fidelio under the direction of Zubin Mehta at the Opera di Firenze's Maggio Musicale Fiorentino festival.
At the Teatro di San Carlo in Neaples she recently made her debut in Zemlinsky's Der Zwerg and sang Fünfte Magd in Elektra under the direction of Maestro Juraj Valcuha. Puccini's Madama Butterfly was her first role at the Oper in der Krypta in Vienna, followed by Senta in Der Fliegende Holländer.
Also a university lecturer, Magdalena Renwart teaches at the Sichuan College of Music and Arts Gong Zhenxu in China, at the Angelika-Prokopp-Sommerakademie of the Vienna Philharmonic, at the University for Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna, and at the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna.
