Karina Flores was born in Shachty in Russia and graduated from the college choir and Rostov Conservatory of Rachmaninov with Professor Margarita Hudaverdova. She studied in Italy at "Accademia di Santa Cecilia" with Renata Scotto. She won the third prize in the competition G. Vishnevskaya in Moscow (2008), the second prize in the competition "Ottavio Ziino" in Rome (2009), and the second prize in the competition "Flaviano Labo" in Piacenza (2009).
In the season 2014/15 she gave her debut with Teatro San Carlo di Napoli as Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana. In February 2015 she sings as Adriana Lecouvreur at Landestheater Innsbruck (Austria) and in June at Teatro Argentina in Rome again as Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana.
Recent engagements were: Amelia in Un ballo in maschera and Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro with the Helikon Opera directed by Dmitry Bertman; Katerina in Lady Macbeth of Mtzensk conducted by Valery Kiryanov and directed by Dmitry Bertman with Helikon Opera; Sephanie in Umberto Giordano's Siberia, and Liza in Pique Dame with the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv conducted by Vladimir Jurowski; Norma with the Festival Bel Canto conducted by Kent Nagano; Aida with the Opera de Massy in Paris; Abigaille in Nabucco with the Novaya Opera; Cio-Cio-San in Madama Butterfly in Rostov; Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana at Michaylovsky Theatre conducted by D. Rustioni and directed by L. Cavani; Tatyana in Eugen Onegin with the Hellikon Opera conducted by A. Kashaev and directed by D. Bertman.
Karina Flores sang the role of Katerina in Shostakovich' Lady Macbeth of Mtzensk also in Tel Aviv in 2008 and with the Opera de Massy in Paris in the season 2008-2009 conducted by K. Chudovsky and directed by D. Bertman.
In concert Karina Flores sang at the Grand Chaykovsky Hall in Moscow for a Verdi Gala conducted by Francesco Cilluffo and for the Rostropovich Festival conducted by U. Bashmet. She also performed in Verdi's Messa da Requiem and in Saint-Saëns Christmas Oratorio in the Grand Hall of the Conservatory in Moscow and in Shostokovich' 14th Symphony in St. Petersburg.
