Hailed as "passionate...and stunning", tenor John Riesen is consistently impressing audiences in the world of opera. Recent roles include; Rodolfo, La Boheme (Shreveport Opera), Alfredo, La Traviata (Tri-Cities Opera), Lensky, Eugene Onegin (Chautauqua Opera), Ralph Rackstraw, HMS Pinafore (Shreveport Opera), Gastone, La Traviata (Michigan Opera Theater), Frederic, Pirates of Penzance (Shreveport Opera), Father Grenville, Dead Man Walking (Shreveport Opera), Howard Boucher, Dead Man Walking (Pensacola Opera). Other notable roles include; Hoffmann, Les Contes D'Hoffmann, Romeo, Romeo et Juliette, and Rodolfo, La Boheme among others.
This season John will be singing as the Tenor Soloist in Opera Columbus's production of Twisted 2, an orchestra, ballet, opera combination concert. John will also be debuting as Alfredo in La Traviata at Tri-Cities Opera, as Rodolfo in La Boheme at Shreveport Opera, and will be singing Tenor soloist in Handel's The Messiah at Broadmoor Methodist Church of Shreveport. In the Spring of 2017 he will also be appearing as the Messenger (covering Radamès) in Aida & Howard Boucher in Dead Man Walking at Pensacola Opera, and as Tenor soloist at the Texarkana Symphony's "A Night at the Opera". This summer John will also be performing Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi with the Crested Butte Summer Festival.
