The Polish tenor Jacek Laszczkowski studied clarinet at Bialystok and later voice at the Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw. He is singing at the most important Operahouses like Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Semperoper Dresden, Bavarian Stateopera, Stateopera Hamburg and Stuttgart, Theater an der Wien, the new Oslo Opera, der Opera Lisboa, Royal Opera House Covent Garden or Opera Warsaw.
His repertoire includes roles such like Don Jose (Carmen), titelrole from Andrea Chenier, Cavaradossi (Tosca), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Rodolfo (La Boheme), Manrico (Il trovatore), Rodolfo (Luisa Miller), Alfredo (La traviata), titelrole from Verdi's Otello, Herodes (Salome), Edipus from Stravinsky's „OEdipus Rex“, Ubu from Penderecki's „Ubu Rex“, Canio (I Pagliacci), Turiddu (Cavalleria rusticana) ond many other important tenor roles .
In season 2015 he will sing besides many recitals and concert galas for example in „Tosca“, „Ubu Rex“ as well as „Don Carlo“ in Gdansk, „Salome“ in Prague and Warsaw where he will perform „Madama Butterfly" too.
The German magazine Opernwelt awarded Jacek Laszczkowski with the title Male Singer of the Year 2003.
