The Finnish soprano Hanna Rantala studied at the Helsinki Conservatory from 2003- 2009, and finished her Masters degree in Music at the opera department of the Sibelius Academy in 2014.
She attended masterclasses with Elisabeth Werres, Barbara Bonney, Tom Krause, Edda Moser and Jeffrey Goldberg.
In the 15/16 season she had her debut as Anne Truelove in Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress in 2016 at Finnish National Opera and in 16/17 she will sing Susanna in Nozze di Figaro, Adele in Fledermaus and in the show Circ Opera, also at Finnish National Opera. She will sing Aljeja in Janáček’s From the House of the Dead at Savonlinna Festival in 2016.
Mrs. Rantala made her professional debut at the Finnish National Opera the season 2011-2012 where she performed numerous roles including Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Frasquita (Carmen), Corinna (Il viaggio a Rheims), Gilda (Rigoletto), Voice from Heaven (Don Carlos), Krista (The Makropulos case), High Priestess (Aida), Ingel (Puhdistus world premiere) and 1st Wood Sprite (Rusalka).
In the seasons that followed, Hanna developed her repertoire at the Finnish National Opera with Maid Marion (Robin Hood), Adina (L'elisir d'amore), Norina (Don Pasquale), Pamina (Die Zauberflöte), Juliette (Die Tote Stadt), Karolka (Jenufa), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Adele (Die Fledermaus) and the title role in Cunning Little Vixen, all at Finnish National Opera.
She has also sung Pamina at Savonlinna Opera Festival in 2012 and Sophie at the Royal Danish Opera in 2014.
