Previously, Ernesto Grisales was already successful as RADAMES at the Festival at the Arena di Verona (with Daniela Dessi), in St. Margarethen (Austria) , in Avenches (Switzerland) and in Toronto. At the side of Michele Crider he sang this part on a big Germany-tour among others in Halle (Gerry-Weber-Stadium), Berlin, Dusseldorf,… just to name a few. 2005 he made his debut as ALVARO in Forza del Destino at the Opera Bonn. He sang TURRIDU (Cavalleria Rusticana) and CANIO (Il Pagliacci) in Toronto, CAVARADOSSI (Tosca) in Seoul and the Netherlands.
Besides he had a fabulous success 2008 in a huge gala concert with Karita Mattila at the Arena of Helsinki.
The tenor is also very much in demand as CALAF ( sung a.o. at the Puccini-Festival in Torre del Lago, in Sao Paolo with Eva Marton and in Toulon), as PINKERTON (at the Berlin State Opera with Anna Tomowa-Sintow), CAVARADOSSI with Sherill Milnes , TURRIDU and CANIO in Palm Beach, as MACDUFF, POLLIONE and ERNANI in Toulon and as OTELLO at the Festival Sankt Margarethen, in Madrid and Como.
Besides guest performances took him to Athens and Japan (Carmen), Venice (Manon Lescaut) and Marseille ( La vida breve and Norma). Her works with renowned conductors such as Peter Schneider, Stefan Soltesz, Michel Plasson, Jiri Kout, Asher Fisch,…
The Colombian-born tenor studied singing and several languages ( Italian, German, French, Englisch) at the Conservatory in Madrid an achieved his singing diplome there. Subsequently he was awarded with various prizes such as the First Prize at the Contest in Verviers (Belgium), the First Prize at the Contest in Marseilles, the Second Prize at the Contest in Toulouse and the Mario del Monaco Contest in Italy and other prizes at the contests 'Alfredo Kraus', and ‘Placido Domingo' in Spain,...
In the summer of 2006 Ernesto Grisales could be seen for the first time at the Eutin Festival, where he achieved great acclaim for his interpretation of MANRICO in Il Trovatore and his participation in various gala concerts. 2007 he repeated this succes with the same role in Gars am Kamp. 2008 the artist gained huge succes as Otello in Tokyo. 2010 he was celebrated as CALAF in Coburg and at the Bratislava National Opera. On the occasion of the “Ruhr - European Capital of Culture 2010 ” he was the acclaimed Radames of the open-air performances.
