Born in 1977 in Regensburg/Bavaria, Bass Christian Hübner graduated from the Musikgymnasium of the boys choir Regensburger Domspatzen and studied mechanical engineering first, making a degree in architecture at TUM München before he won a national price in the german competition "Young Musicians" in 1999.
In 2000 he earnded a scholarship from the Paul-Hofhaymer Society Salzburg/Austria and began his vocal studies at the Cologne Music Academy with Prof.
Hans Sotin in 2001. In 2003 he received a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association Cologne/Germany and in 2004 he continued his vocal studies at the Musikhochschule Cologne/Aachen with Prof. Robert Schunk. In 2007 he graduated with diploma. Master classes e.g. with Robert Holl and Otto Edelmann.
Besides his vocal studies Christian Hübner also completed business studies and graduated with a degree in business administration.
2010 Christian Hübner has been the german voice of Paul Bunyan in Disney's Oscar- nominated cartoon "Paul Bunyan".
In the seasons 2007/08 to 2008/09 Christian Hübner had been member of the ensemble of the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz Munich and made guest appearances in 2008/09, including Vienna Volksoper. 2009/10 Christian Hübner moved as serious operatic bass into the ensemble of Theater Bremen, in order to sing a wide professional repertoire with many main opera roles.
Guest contracts led the singer e.g. to the Vienna Volksoper, Oper Bonn, the Staatstheater Dessau, Theater Winterthur and Opera Zuid Maastricht.
In the season 2011/12 guest-contracts with Staatstheater Braunschweig, Theater Aachen, Theater Magdeburg and the Teatro Principale Palma de Mallorca.
Christian Hübner appeared as soloist in productions directed by Philipp Himmelmann, Vico von Bulow (Loriot), Alfred Kirchner, Rosamund Gilmore, Andrea Moses, Tatiana Gürbaca, Josef Köpplinger and Johannes Felsenstein.
His operatic bass roles include Baron Ochs in Der Rosenkavalier, Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, Fafner in Das Rheingold and Siegfried, Hunding in Die Walküre, Hagen in Götterdämmerung, Titurel in Parsifal, Osmin in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Gremin in Eugen Onegin, Commendatore in Don Giovanni, Oroveso in Norma, Timur in Turandot, Baculus in Der Wildschütz, Moser in I masnadieri und Matteo in Fra Diavolo.
