Ariel Zuckermann was named Music Director of the Israel Chamber Orchestra in 2015 and counts amongst the most sought-after conductors of the younger generation. He studied conducting with the legendary Jorma Panula in Stockholm and Bruno Weil in Munich.
Highlights this season, beyond the current tour with the Australian Youth Orchestra, are engagements with the Georgian National Philharmonic, Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra, Tonkünstler Orchestra with concerts at Vienna Musikverein and debuts with the MDR Sinfonieorchester in Leipzig and Norddeutsche Philharmonie Rostock.
Ariel started off his career as Assistant Conductor to Iván Fischer at the Budapest Festival Orchestra leading many critically acclaimed performances. He has made well-received debuts with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin at Berlin’s Philharmonie and KBS Symphony Orchestra. Recent engagements include Hungarian National Philharmonic, ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Bamberger Symphoniker, WDR Sinfonieorchester Köln, Orquesta Filarmónica de Gran Canaria, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Taipei Symphony Orchestra and Camerata Salzburg.
Winner of numerous international competitions, Ariel Zuckermann began his musical career as a flautist. He studied flute in Munich with Paul Meisen and András Adorján.
