Bulgarian Soprano Anna Tomowa-Sintow (1941-) has sung to great acclaim in the world's major opera houses. She joined Leipzig Opera in 1967, and made her debut in Nabucco. She soon built up a repertoire to include Madama Butterfly, Manon Lescaut, La Traviata, Il Trovatore, Don Giovanni, and Arabella. Her San Francisco debut was 1974, Covent Garden in 1975, the Met in 1976 and Chicago in 1980.
