Soprano Angela Mannino, made her Metropolitan Opera debut as the 15 Year Old Girl in Lulu and is an alumna of Lyric Opera of Chicago’s Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center.
In the 2014-2015 season, Soprano Angela Mannino returned to Dallas Opera as Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro and Lyric Opera of Chicago as the Shepherd in Tannhauser and to understudy the role of Yvette in Mieczyslaw Weinberg’s The Passenger.
She also performed with Little Opera Theater of New York as Tess in Floyd’s Markheim and will sing her first performances of Mahler’s Fourth Symphony with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra this spring.
Among her numerous roles at Lyric are Barbarina in Le Nozze di Figaro, Giannetta in L’Elisir d’Amore and an Esquire and a Flowermaiden in Parsifal.
She triumphed with a last minute debut as Blonde in The Abduction from the Seraglio jumping in for opening night and a subsequent performance. She debuted at Dallas Opera as Papagena in The Magic Flute.
Recent performances include Clorinda in La Cenerentola at Opera Omaha, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and Susanna in Le Nozze di Figaro with the Bar Harbor Music Festival, Oscar in Un Ballo in Maschera and Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi with New Orleans Opera, the Fairy Godmother in Cendrillon with Kentucky Opera and Zerlina in Don Giovanni with Madison Opera, Gilda in Rigoletto with Opera Grand Rapids, Zerlina in Don Giovanni with Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Colombina in Le Donne Curiose, Fiorilla in Il Turco in Italia and the world premier of John Musto’s opera, The Inspector, commissioned by the Wolf Trap Foundation.
Angela was the recipient of a Sullivan Foundation Career Grant, as well as a Shoshana Foundation Award.
She was an apprentice with Central City Opera and Santa Fe Opera and is a graduate of Indiana University and Loyola University.
